charity
Each year, Charity Fashion Show selects a beneficiary which we believes fulfills our mission and goals. This year, Charity Fashion Show will donate all proceeds to Kiva, a micro-finance non-profit organization. Kiva, founded by Stanford alumni, aims to alleviate poverty by connecting people through lending. At Kiva.org, individual lenders can make person-to-person micro-loans to unique entrepreneurs around the world. Charity Fashion Show is pairing up with Kiva to fund loans specifically designed for entrepreneurs in the fashion and garment industry.
Locally, Charity Fashion Show focuses on specific youth arts development initiatives in the Bay Area, primarily through the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula and our Future Faces of Fashion high school internship program. At the Boys and Girls Club, Charity Fashion Show runs a weekly fashion club, which aims to provide youth with concrete ideas for beginning a career in the fashion industry while encouraging them to stay in school. The Future Faces of Fashion Program gives twelve unique and talented high school students the opportunity to intern as models, designers, and artistic directors with Charity Fashion Show.
