The event had a great crowd ranging from well known photographers and press, to party promoters and stylists, to fashionistas, CFS alums, and fans. The invite-only reception gave the crowd an exclusive sneak peek at what the Amsterdam-native will be showing on 05.15.10, and it certainly did not disappoint. CFS Models with extreme hair and makeup moved between boxes dressed in 10 of Tosca's 25-look set while the crowd mingled and sipped on Vitamin-Water cocktails. 01.21.10 WDESIGNS EDITORIAL FEATURES CFS MODELS Kris Cheng did it again. This time around, photographer Kris Cheng partnered with CFS Models and Wayne Hwang of WDesigns to produce what are some of the best editorial photos of WDesigns to date. The shots have an aura of vampirism that echoes throughout the spread; and the look is spot on for the collection. Titled Venus, the unreleased WDesigns collection is quickly getting press. With 1 day until the collection's runway premiere, the editorial shots can be found on 7x7 Magazine, and presumably a number of other sites in the next few days. The entire series can be found on the WDesigns site here. _____________________________  01.07.10 DEVELOPMENT EXPANSION As Charity Fashion Show starts it sponsorship and partnership push for 2010, one thing has become entirely clear: expansion. The Development Division, led by Director Stephanie Werner, has had huge success in the last year. This time around though, she expects even more. With Business Coordinator Arielle Aryah doing more than ever before, it was time to bring on new staff. Charity Fashion Show has added two new Sponsorship Specialists to the team: Nina Brentlinger and Valerie Frank. Both of these new team members join the newly expanded division with a variety of skills, including backgrounds in fundraising, client management, journalism, and fashion brand experience. From the January announcement of huge names such as Nanette Lepore and Smartwater, to the February rise of model John McCallen, to the March Vegas Trip, to the 1000 seat sellout of April, to the Largest Fashion Show on the West Coast in May, CFS showed no signs of stopping. Heading into summer, CFS didn't disappoint. July saw 14 award nominations at San Francisco's Fashion Awards, including Event of the Year, Model of the Year, Designer of the Year, Event Producer of the Year, and Stylist of the Year. August saw the start of a Fall Campaign never before done by CFS, and September and August featured the rise of an expanded team; as the year winds down CFS again shows signs of an unbelievable spring. SJHelium is an organization based out of San Jose State University that works to promote fashion and visual arts through a magazine, and fashion events. Arriving with force, the CFS Team included Executive Director Thom Scher, Director of Fashion Megan Anctil, Director of Development Stephanie Werner, Designer Relations Coordinator Lee Axelrod, and the new Editor-in-Chief of FCubed Fashion Blog Taylor Jackson. Stay tuned for information on tickets and show lineups! _____________________________  07.27.09 SF FASHION AWARDS RECAP Yesterday, a team from Charity Fashion Show went to the San Francisco Fashion Awards to celebrate what has been a great year for fashion in The Bay. In the end, CFS and its Production Partners garnered 14 nominations in 11 of 15 categories, including Event, Designer, Model, and Producer of the year. At the end of the event at the Hotel Phoenix, an expanded and revised WDesigns "Water" collection (by Director Emeritus Wayne Hwang) had stunned the crowd with its extravagance, beauty, and cohesiveness. Nominations include Fashion Event of the Year, Designer of the Year, Model of the Year, and Producer of the Year. Head Coordinators Wayne Hwang and Thom Scher each received two nominations a piece, in the categories of Designer of the Year, Costume Designer of the Year, Stylist of the Year, and Event Producer of the Year. CFS Females received 3 out of the 5 nominations for Female Runway Model of the Year, with recognition going to Daisy Chen, Kara Murray, and Lizzie Banks. Among the list are well known industry standards such as Betsey Johnson, Claiborne, Nanette Lepore, and Tadashi. This new line by WDesigns can be seen at Stanford's Art Affair on April 16-18 in preview form, and will be making its full debut at Charity Fashion Show on May 2nd, 2009. With the show expected to sell out, Charity Fashion Show is preparing for the 1000 person crowd come May 2nd, 2009. CFS Models Elise, Daisy, and Ginille were shot in the newest pieces from the upcoming ?Water? collection by Wdesigns. Other photo-shoots featured clothing from Nanette Lepore, Kittinhawk, and Andrew Christian (all of whom are showing at CFS 2009), as well as products from an array of sponsors including Glaceau's Smartwater, and Monster Energy. Her handmade clothing and jewelry design outfit some of the chicest people in San Francisco. Within the feature was a discussion of Kittinhawk being shown at the Charity Fashion Show on May 2nd, for which Ms. Dutra said to have "Big Plans." Not only did CFS Models win a competition to find the hottest people in Long Beach, they were also invited to host a similar contest just two nights later in Irvine. Charity Fashion Show is glad to help throughout the Bay with various outreach events. Held at the St. Anne's Catholic Church of San Francisco, this charity event was featured in the Filipino American newspaper and network stations.
